Managing Events7 questions

How do I submit an event?

First, pick your city from the Cities menu at the top of the page. Once your city is selected, click Events in the same menu, then click Submit Your Event. Pick the city, fill in the title, date(s), time, venue, description, and an optional image. Hit submit — your event goes live within seconds.

How long does approval take?

Your event goes live within seconds of submission.

What if my event is removed?

We only remove events that violate site rules (wrong city, not a public event, prohibited content, or duplicate). If your event is taken down, you’ll get an email explaining why. Resubmit with the issue fixed — there’s no penalty for removed events.

How do I edit an event after it’s live?

The confirmation email you got right after submitting contains an Edit Your Event link. It works without logging in. Changes go live the moment you save.

How do I remove an event?

The confirmation email you got right after submitting also contains a Delete link. Click it and the event is removed immediately. No login required.

Why don’t I see edit/delete in the menu?

Because you don’t need to log in. The link in your confirmation email is unique to your event and works as long as the event exists. If you lost the original confirmation email, submit the event again with the email address you used the first time — the new confirmation will include fresh manage links.

Does it cost anything?

No. Event postings are free.

Managing Classifieds7 questions

How do I post a classified?

First, pick your city from the Cities menu at the top of the page. Once your city is selected, click Classifieds in the same menu, then click Post Free Classified. Fill in the form (title, category, price, description, photos), and submit. You’ll get a confirmation email — click the Confirm & Publish Listing button and your ad goes live.

Why is there a confirmation email?

It stops bots and protects you from someone posting in your name. The link is unique to your listing and works only once.

How do I delete my listing before it expires?

The confirmation email you got right after posting includes a Delete link. Click it and the listing is removed immediately. No login required.

My listing expired. How do I renew?

Listings stay live for 30 days. On day 29 you get a reminder email. To renew, just submit a new listing — the posting form remembers your email address and lets you repost in under a minute.

Why was my listing rejected?

Common reasons: wrong category, missing contact info, image not loading, or duplicate of an existing listing. The rejection email explains which.

Can I edit a live listing?

Yes — the confirmation email you got right after posting includes an edit link. Changes go live the moment you save.

Is this free?

Yes. Free for individuals and businesses. No card required.

Managing Ads (paid placements)14 questions

I just signed up. Where’s my dashboard?

Go to your dashboard at https://vnomy.com/ad-rotator-test/, or log in at https://vnomy.com/ad-dashboard-login/ if you haven’t already. Your dashboard shows all your placements, impressions, clicks, and renewal options. Bookmark it.

What’s included with my paid tier?

Every paid tier — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond — includes a free business profile page (your-actual-business-name gets a page at https://vnomy.com/profile/your-business-name/). Your actual profile URL is shown in your dashboard. The profile has your photos, menu, hours, and contact info. It stays live even if you cancel your paid placement.

How does billing work?

Billing is handled by Stripe (industry-standard, secure). If we offer a free trial, you won’t be charged during the trial period — we’ll send you a reminder email before the first charge. After your subscription starts, your card is charged monthly. The exact price and any current promotions are shown at signup and in your dashboard. There’s never a surprise charge; the amount we show is the amount we bill.

How do I cancel?

Log in to your dashboard, go to Subscription, click Cancel. Your ad stops the moment you cancel — no end-of-period billing, no clawback. Your profile page stays live (it’s free and never expires).

Can I get a refund?

We don’t offer refunds on the current billing period, but cancellation is immediate and pro-rated — you keep everything through the day you cancel and nothing more.

What happens to my profile if I cancel my paid tier?

Nothing. The profile is free and separate from your ad placement. It stays live at the same URL forever. You can log in anytime to update it.

I’m on Diamond and you launched a new city. Does my ad auto-extend?

Yes. Diamond is site-wide — when we publish a new city, your ad goes live there automatically at no extra cost.

How do I upgrade or downgrade?

Dashboard → Subscription → Change tier. Upgrades take effect immediately and pro-rate. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Can I run ads in multiple cities?

Yes. Each tier covers one city. To cover more, you can either upgrade (Platinum+ adds more surfaces within the same city) or buy an additional tier at the same discount. Diamond covers all cities.

Where do I see how my ad is performing?

Dashboard → Analytics. Impressions, clicks, click-through rate, broken down by city and by surface (article, city page, events, classifieds).

Why do Platinum and Diamond tiers need two image sizes?

Platinum and Diamond get an ad slot in two formats per city: a 300×250 square (used in the events sidebar) and a 728×90 leaderboard (used in articles, city pages, classifieds, and events leaderboard). Each slot pulls the size that matches — uploading only one size means the other slot is silent. We require both sizes so your ad actually shows up in every slot your tier covers.

The image dimensions must match exactly: 300×250 for the square, 728×90 for the leaderboard. The upload form rejects files with the wrong dimensions before they save. If you designed creatives at the wrong size, export them at the correct dimensions from your design tool and re-upload.

I created my ad but it’s not showing. Why?

Creating an ad and publishing an ad are two different steps. After signup, you build the ad in the dashboard with your image, copy, and link — but the ad does not enter the rotation queue until you click Publish. Ads that haven’t been published do not rotate.

Your dashboard shows a banner: “⚠️ N ad(s) ready to publish — hit Publish to go live.” Click Publish to put your ad in the queue. Ads in the published state rotate automatically across the slots your tier covers.

This is your responsibility as a paid customer. VNomy is not liable for ads that haven’t been published. If you published and your ad still isn’t showing, check the dashboard’s “Diagnostics” section for any missing-creative warnings — Platinum and Diamond tiers will see a warning if one of their two required sizes is missing.

What happens when I unpublish?

Unpublishing removes your ad from all rotation queues immediately. Your creatives and settings are preserved — you can re-publish anytime by clicking Publish again, and the ad goes back into rotation.

Your subscription continues to renew normally while unpublished. You keep paying for the service. Unpublishing is reversible; deleting your account is not.

How do I delete my account?

Log in to your dashboard and go to Settings → Delete account. A confirmation modal will appear with the exact consequences of deletion. You will be asked to type the word delete to confirm. This is irreversible once you confirm.

What gets deleted: your business profile, all uploaded creatives, all ad queue placements, and your login. Your subscription stops renewing when you delete. You have a 30-day grace period after the request — if you log back in during that window, you can cancel the deletion and your account is restored. After 30 days, the data is permanently erased.

If you change your mind during the 30-day window, log in and click Reverse deletion. Your account is restored immediately with all data intact.

Our recommendations5 questions

How do you pick which restaurants to recommend?

We don’t pick them from a spreadsheet. Our recommendations come from the Vietnamese community — the people who grew up with this food and eat it every week. We listen to where they actually go, what they order, and what they tell their friends. When a dish keeps coming up from people who know what it should taste like, that’s what we share. We don’t rank places or hand out scores. We just point you to the dishes our community already trusts.

Why do you say “recommendations” instead of “reviews”?

Because we’re not reviewing anything. A review scores a place against a checklist and tells you it’s a number out of five. We don’t do that. We recommend dishes — the ones our community actually eats and stands behind. A recommendation says “this is worth your time,” not “this scored well.” It’s a different promise, and we’d rather be honest about which one we’re making.

How do you verify a restaurant is authentic?

We don’t run a formal audit or hand out certificates. Authenticity, to us, means the food tastes the way it’s supposed to — the way Vietnamese people remember it. That’s something the community knows better than any checklist. If the people who grew up eating a dish say a place gets it right, that’s our standard. We trust the community’s palate over a scorecard.

Can I trust a recommendation if you don’t have a star rating?

Yes — and we’d argue you can trust it more. Star ratings average out a lot of noise: one angry review, one paid boost, and the number stops meaning much. A recommendation from people who know the food is a different signal. It’s not “this place scored well.” It’s “our community eats here and stands behind it.” That’s the signal we’d rather give you.

Campaigns & subscriptions8 questions

What’s the difference between a “campaign” and a “subscription”?

They’re two names for the same thing, used in different contexts. A campaign is the ad you manage — the creative, the city, the link. A subscription is the billing that keeps it running. One subscription = one campaign. When you’re working on your ad, you’re managing a campaign. When you’re talking about the money, it’s a subscription.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Your campaign runs until its end date. When it ends, your ad comes out of our rotation and the campaign is removed from the queue. Your free profile page stays live — it’s separate and never expires. Auto-renewal is opt-in at signup, not the default, so nothing renews behind your back.

Will I get a warning before my campaign ends?

Yes. We email you 30, 15, 7, and 1 day before your campaign’s end date, so “your ad just stopped” is never a surprise. Each email tells you how many days are left and how to renew or upgrade if you want to keep running.

How does upgrading work if I have more than one campaign?

Upgrading replaces one specific campaign — the one you choose. Your other campaigns (in other cities, or for other businesses) stay live with their own dates and pricing. When you add a new campaign and you already have an active one, we show a simple prompt with three choices: add the new campaign, upgrade your current one, or cancel.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel anytime, with no fee and no lock-in. Cancel from your dashboard and your ad stops running. You won’t be charged for any month after the one in which you cancel.

What happens to my ad when my subscription expires?

Your ad comes out of the rotation queues and the campaign is removed. Your free profile page stays live. If you have other active campaigns, they keep running — only the expired campaign’s ads stop.

Are all campaigns managed the same way?

Yes. Every campaign — however you got it — is managed the same way from the same dashboard. Same welcome, same renewal flow, same everything. There’s no special treatment or hidden labels.

What happens if I let my campaign end instead of renewing?

Your ad comes out of rotation and the campaign is removed from the queue. Your free profile page stays live. You can start a new campaign anytime from your dashboard.
